What New Clients Can Expect

Starting Care Can Feel Big. We Make It Simple.

Reaching out for help is a strong and meaningful step. Here is what the process looks like, so you know what to expect at each stage.

Step 1: Book Your Appointment

Schedule online or call us. Choose an in-person or telehealth visit, and tell us whether you will use insurance or self-pay. If you are unsure about coverage, you can verify your benefits before booking.

Step 2: Complete Your Paperwork

After you book, you will receive a link to our secure client portal. Please complete your intake forms, including:

  • Personal and contact information
  • Medical and mental health history
  • Current medications
  • Consent and privacy forms
  • Insurance details, if applicable

Completing this before your visit means more of your time is spent talking with your provider.

Step 3: Prepare for Your Visit

Bring or have ready:

  • A photo ID
  • Your insurance card, if using insurance
  • A list of medications and supplements, with doses
  • Records from previous providers, if available
  • Any questions or goals you have in mind

Step 4: Your Evaluation

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Your provider will listen to your story, ask about your symptoms and history, and answer your questions. There are no wrong answers. You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable with, and you can take breaks.

Step 5: Your Treatment Plan

By the end of your visit, you and your provider will talk about:

  • What your provider believes is going on
  • Treatment options, including medication, therapy, and lifestyle supports
  • The benefits and risks of each option
  • A plan for follow-up

You are always part of the decision. You will not be pressured into starting any treatment.

Step 6: Ongoing Care

Follow-up visits are shorter and focus on how you are doing, how treatment is working, and any changes needed. Your provider may also coordinate with your therapist or primary care provider, with your written permission.

What You Can Count On
